If all souls are equal before God, why is life so unfair?
Equality before God does not mean that everyone receives the same circumstances on Earth.
It means that no soul is created more valuable, more loved, or destined for greater spiritual worth than another.
Many earthly inequalities are created by human choices and must be confronted, not spiritually justified.

God is impartial. Human society is not.
Spiritism teaches that all souls share the same spiritual nature, are subject to the same moral laws, and are called toward the same ultimate progress. No one is created to be permanently superior or inferior to anyone else.
But equality of spiritual dignity does not produce identical lives on Earth.
We enter the world with different abilities, histories, opportunities, bodies, families, and social conditions. We are also born into societies shaped by generations of human choices.
Some differences reflect the different stages of experience through which spirits are passing. But many inequalities are created and maintained by pride, selfishness, discrimination, violence, inherited privilege, and the misuse of freedom.
These injustices should not be attributed to God.
Spiritism places a single lifetime within a much longer spiritual journey. This wider view suggests that the conditions we see today are not the complete measure of a soul’s history or future.
But reincarnation must never be used to claim that someone deserved their suffering.
We rarely know the deeper causes behind another person’s circumstances. What we do know is our responsibility in the present: to protect dignity, reduce avoidable suffering, resist exploitation, and create fairer conditions for others.
Earthly advantage is not proof of spiritual superiority. Poverty, illness, exclusion, or hardship are not proof of moral failure.
Equality before God does not make an unfair world acceptable.
It reveals why unfairness matters.
Every person we ignore, exploit, diminish, or protect possesses the same spiritual dignity that we do.
The question is not only why life is unfair.
It is what we will do when another person is treated as though their life matters less.

What does justice mean beyond laws and punishment?
