But not every coincidence is a sign. Spiritual influence works through natural means, and we should not assume that every unexpected event carries a hidden message.

  • Sometimes a coincidence may be more than coincidence

    You meet someone unexpectedly. A thought makes you change direction. Something catches your attention just before an important decision.

    According to Spiritism, some apparently accidental events may sometimes involve spiritual influence.

    Not everything that looks accidental necessarily is.

  • Spiritual influence can look completely natural

    A Spirit does not need to suspend the laws of nature to influence what happens.

    The influence may come through a thought, an impulse to pay attention, a suggestion, or circumstances that bring two people together.

    Nothing supernatural needs to be visible.

    Spiritual influence does not have to look supernatural.

  • Not every coincidence is a message

    A repeated number, an unexpected song, a delayed train, a broken object, or someone appearing at an unusual moment can feel deeply significant.

    But the event itself does not prove that a Spirit arranged it.

    Sometimes there is an ordinary cause. Sometimes our own attention connects an event with something already occupying our mind.

    Meaningful does not automatically mean spiritually arranged.

  • A sign should never replace judgment

    Spiritism allows for spiritual guidance, but guidance does not remove our responsibility to think.

    A coincidence should not replace evidence. A presentiment should not replace ordinary caution. And a supposed sign should never require us to ignore reason, safety, or the consequences of our actions.

    Guidance can influence a choice without making the choice for us.

  • You do not need to decode everything

    Perhaps the healthiest response to an extraordinary coincidence is neither to dismiss it nor to declare with certainty that a Spirit caused it.

    Notice it. Reflect on what it brings to your attention.

    And then decide for yourself what to do.

    True guidance should help you use your freedom more wisely—not make you dependent on signs.
