Reincarnation gives the Spirit more than one life because one life is rarely enough to learn everything, repair every harm, and develop every quality it still lacks.
According to Spiritism, the purpose of reincarnation is progress.
The Spirit returns to physical life to continue its education through real choices, relationships, responsibilities, difficulties, and consequences.
Each incarnation places it in new conditions where it can strengthen qualities such as patience, courage, compassion, honesty, and self-control.
Reincarnation is not a punishment imposed by an angry God. It is a law of justice and opportunity.
A Spirit may return to repair harm it has caused, face lessons it once avoided, or complete work left unfinished. But repair is not only suffering. It can also mean serving, loving better, taking responsibility, and choosing differently when similar situations return.
Not every difficulty is a direct payment for a past mistake.
Life is also shaped by free will, the actions of others, the conditions of the material world, and the needs of collective progress. Spiritism should not be used to judge someone’s pain or to claim that every hardship was deserved.
Each life adds something to the Spirit.
What is truly learned is not lost at death. Moral growth, inner strength, and the qualities developed through experience remain part of who the Spirit becomes.
