Why am I here?

You are here because your life is part of a journey that began before your birth and will continue beyond it.

According to Spiritism, every incarnation gives the Spirit new opportunities to learn, repair, serve, and grow. You bring with you qualities already developed, tendencies still imperfect, and experiences that may help you become more aware and responsible.

But your purpose is not necessarily one hidden mission waiting to be discovered.

Some Spirits may return with a particular task. Most lives, however, find their meaning through ordinary human responsibilities: how we treat others, how we respond to difficulty, what we create, what we repair, and what we choose when no answer is obvious.

The circumstances of your life may shape the work before you, but they do not completely define it.

You may have been born into a certain family, body, culture, or period of history because those conditions offer particular experiences. Yet this does not mean that every event was planned or that every suffering was deserved. Your life is also affected by human free will, the choices of others, and the conditions of the material world.

Spiritism does not ask you to decode every pain as a message from the past.

It asks what you will do now.

Your purpose may become visible in the qualities life calls you to develop: courage where there is fear, compassion where there is pain, responsibility where there was avoidance, or service where someone needs help.

You are not here simply to endure what happens to you.

You are here to participate.

The meaning of your life is found not only in the circumstances you received, but in what you choose to make of them.
