Do Relationships Continue After Death?
The people we knew and loved do not become strangers after death. Spirits preserve their individuality, can recognize one another, and genuine affection may continue beyond physical life.
But relationships do not necessarily remain exactly as they were on Earth. The bond may continue even when its earthly form changes.

Not necessarily. Spiritism says that relatives and friends can recognize one another and meet again after death, but this does not mean an entire family remains permanently together as one fixed group.
Different Spirits may be at different stages of progress. One may reincarnate while another remains in the spirit world, or their individual paths may temporarily lead them in different directions. None of this necessarily erases genuine affection.
Family bonds can survive death without requiring permanent proximity.

Not automatically. Marriage belongs to the conditions of earthly life, so Spiritism does not teach that two people become eternally bound simply because they were husband and wife during one incarnation.
If genuine affection and spiritual affinity exist between them, that bond may continue after death. But the relationship is no longer sustained by a legal or social role; what remains depends on what the two Spirits truly mean to one another.
Love may survive death without marriage becoming an eternal obligation.

They can retain hostility for a time. Death does not instantly transform the moral condition of a Spirit, so resentment, anger, or unresolved conflict may continue beyond physical life.
But Spiritism does not make hatred permanent. As Spirits progress and understand more clearly, old grievances may lose their importance, remorse may arise, and reconciliation may eventually become possible.
Death does not automatically erase hatred—but spiritual progress can.
